Best known for being in the gunfight at the O.K. Corral. Doc Holiday was a Dentist, Gambler, and a World Traveler who loved the soothing waters of the Yampa Spa. Doc Holiday died in one of the hotel rooms in Springs.
The Hotel, which stood where the Summit Canyon Mountaineering Building stands today on 8th & Grand burned down several years later. In the movies they show him die in a hospital or sanitarium but this is not the case.
Holiday died from Tuberculosis, this fact they always got right. Doc Holiday is buried on the hill overlooking the town. From town you can see the American Flag that stands at Doc Holiday’s graveside, about halfway up the hill to the east.
